Have just got a mac but wanted to have best of both worlds. Installed vmfusion and now I can't get out of windows. It boots into windows and wont recognise my internet access or let me eject the cd I put in. I'm a real novice in this partition lark so please can someone tell me what I have done and how to get out of it

    Thanks Carol

Hi, if you have a MacBook, above the "delete" key is the eject key (underlined triangle) push and hold until you see the same symbol on the screen and after a few seconds the CD will be ejected.

If you want to get out of Windows click on the red round button in the upper left corner of the window WIN is running in. A drop down menu should appear asking you to suspend the virtual machine. Click on OK and it will shut down. and the next time you start WIN it'll come right back up the way it was setup when you shut it down.

    Hope this helps.

Hi appreciate your help. I have an i mac, but I dont appear to have any mac stuff anywhere at the moment!! Heaven knows what I have done. I have managed to eject the disc using windows but dont have a red dot in my windows!! When i first set it up I only used sleep and the machine booted up in mac OK but then I used shut down and now only appear to be running windows

For the benefit of others reading this thread it turns out the that the native install of Windows on the Boot Camp partition was set as the Startup Disk so upon reboot it would just boot back to Windows on the Boot Camp partition so I provide instructions on how to change the Startup Disk if the Boot Camp Drivers were installed or how to choose which OS using the Option key when starting the Mac and then how to change the Startup Disk in System Preferences once back at the OS X Desktop.
