  • 1.  Windows 8, Fusion 5 and error when installing

    Posted Nov 13, 2012 12:17 AM

I just upgraded from Fusion 4 to Fusion5. I am trying to install a new clean copy of windows 8. When the windows 8 system starts, I get the same error when installing: A media driver your computer needs is missing....

I have a Mac 27 i5 system running mountain lion....I never had a problem with Windows xp....

    Thanks

To help figure out what is what, the best way to provide comprehensive diagnostic information is to use the "Collect Support Information" command from the VMware Fusion (menu bar) > Help > Collect Support Information and then attach the .tgz file it created on your Desktop to a reply post.

Try the steps as mentioned in the following article

    Installing windows 8

Ensure that you are using the latest build of fusion ( latest build has some fixes for easy install )

If you still encounte issue, it could be related to disk or image corruption. Redownloading the disk image would be advisible if you are using the iso file downloaded from the microsoft store.
