Here's the scenerio... iMac running Fusion... all 'hooked up' to an Airport Extreme that is sharing 2 USB printers and 1 USB hard disk. All has worked great for the past 3 months.. then suddenly - nothing changing - i can't connect Win XP to the shared Airdisk. The USB disk is partitioned with a Mac partition and a Fat32 partition (which I use for Windows application backups)... as I said, it was all tickety boo. The windows partion on the USB drive was mapped to Windows XP, so it always showed up - now I can't connect to it.
The Imac can see and connect to all the drives... Fusion / Xp has 1 gig of memory allocated....
Fusion / Xp is set to Bridged Networking mode. ( I've tried this in NAT mode as well...) It gets the proper (10.0.1.x) ip address from the Airport. It can surf the Internet. It can print to the shared USB printers via Bonjour. I can run Airport Utility and see the router, see the printers, and... see the USB hard drive. but will not connect to it. Says that it doesn't exist...
I try mapping the hard drive via
10.0.1.1\harddrive just as it functioned for months... it attempts to connect, then gives me the "the network path
10.0.1.1\harddrive could not be found.
I've scoured the web... it just won't work.
