  • 1.  efi vmware virtual nvme namespace no media on mac

Since I have started to install windows 10 on my MacBook Air (2020), I am having this issue: efi vmware virtual nvme namespace no media... . But have installed and reinstalled vmware Fusion and also deleted the virtual windows created by vmware. But no light still.

I have tried to perform every other action available to get rid of the issue but failed. Especially, the solution provided on the internet is more Windows-based.

    Please help me.

"Same issue here" is not a helpful post.

The message is indicating that there's no bootable operating system on the hard drive, CD/DVD or network of the VM you're trying to power on.

The most likely cause we've seen is that you're trying to boot something built for Intel on an Apple Silicon (M1/2/3) Mac. The second most likely cause is you failed to answer the Windows "Press any key" message.

Please give us some more information so that we can help you.

    • Exact error message and where you are seeing it.
    • What Macbook Air are you running on? (Intel or M1)?
    • What Fusion version?
    • What kind of virtual machine are you trying to create/run?
    • What is the file name of the ISO file that you're trying to install on the Fusion VM?

I am using m1 pro macbook pro.

    • Exact error message and where you are seeing it. - There is no error message. As stated in the initial post, the screen gets stuck and boots to bios settings
    • What Macbook Air are you running on? (Intel or M1)? - m1 pro
    • What Fusion version? - 13.5
    • What kind of virtual machine are you trying to create/run? - vmdk
    • What is the file name of the ISO file that you're trying to install on the Fusion VM? - cloudera_quickstart_5.7-disk1.vmdk

It looks to me from research that the Cloudera virtual disk that you’ve downloaded requires an Intel processor. That’s something that you’ll need to verify with Cloudera.

Any operating system that is built for an Intel processor will not run on an M1/2/3 Mac. What you see is what happens if you try - the operating system can not be booted.

Check with Cloudera to see if they have a version that runs on ARM architectures. If they don't, you’ll need to run it on an Intel Mac or PC.
