  • 1.  vmware fusion increase partition size to 40GB

    I have vista installed on my Mac Pro under VMWare Fusion. The install was only 20GB.

    How do I increase the partition size? I have no experience with Mac

    terminal. Fusion was installed under Applications, the actual Windows

    Vista.vmwarevm is under Users/Todd/Documents/Windows.

    Tips for mac beginners would help!

    1. Shut down your virtual machine (Virtual Machine menu -> Shut down guest)

    2. Edit your Virtual Machine's settings (Virtual Machine menu -> Settings)

    3. Select "Hard Disks"

    4. Drag slider to adjust hard drive size (see picture)

    Hi I am in hte same situation - I want to increase my disk size from 20 to 40 gigs. I followed the instructions, however the hard disk section is greyed out and there is no slder to increase the disk size. I have already shut down vm fusion.

    The slider only exists in Fusion 2.0; you're probably using 1.x.

    When the VM is shut down you should be able to go to the VM settings, go to the Hard Disk options, and resize it as necessary.
