    Hi,

I for the life of me cannot work this out.

What is the combination of keys I need to get the function keys to be passed into VMWare Fusion applications (mostly running in unity mode)? I have a MacBook running Leopard and version 1.1.1 of Fusion, but all that seems to happen is me triggering volume up or down, while if the fn key is also held then triggering expose or dashboard. I presume there is some special key combination, but it is not documented in the help and searching Google didn't turn up what the exact combination is, only many suggestions none of which seem to work.

While on this subject, I can't seem to find a menu in Fusion for sending esoteric key combinations.....is this just an oversight, or am I somehow missing it?

Thanks in advance, Alex J Burke.

I have yet to see an answer for this also and I hope there is a solution. Its almost impossible to run a debugger in the virtual machine without using the standard F keys to step in, step out, etc.. You could change the short cut keys but there are just to many, not only to change, but to remember them once you change them.

Bravo on the -Z/-C/-V/-P/-A/-F. Now we just need the F keys to map over too.

By default, Mac keyboards don't send function keys, but rather the extra functionality of brightness/sound/etc. To get normal function key behavior, you have to switch the default or hold the fn key, as you noted. There's also the problem that OS X intercepts some Fn keys for Spaces and Exposé. A workaround is to change one of your mappings (Spaces/Expose or whatever the guest needs) to not conflict, or use a key remapping program in the virtual machine to map some other key to the one you need.

Aside from the Ctrl-Alt-Delete entry, Fusion does not currently have a way to send commands. Your best bet is to use a remapping program or on-screen keyboard in the virtual machine.
