Pause Button not available in VM

I converted my bootcamp VM into a regular VM that I could move to another machine. The reason that I did this is that the Bootcamp VM would not allow me to Pause -- i.e. the option was not available.

I then converted the bootcamp VM into a regular VM, but the Pause button and Suspend options are still grayed out and not available. Any suggestions on how to enable these features?
