I am using Fusion 3 with Windows 7 Enterprise and a UK 15" MacBook Pro. I have searched everywhere and can find no way of making the '\' (backslash) key work. Does anyone have a solution?

Hi Richard, it looks like the British Mac keyboard is different from the British Windows keyboard.

On the Mac, the '\' key is near the return key. On Windows the '\' is to the left of the 'z' key.

To type '\' in Windows try hitting the key on the left of the 'z' key. If this works you can add a key mapping (Preferences -> Keybaord & Mouse) to correct this behavior.

Also, make sure you have the same keyboard layout selected in Windows and on your Mac. For example, if you're using British on the Mac but you're using US English in Windows then things can get messed up.

    Thanks,

    Sailesh

    Sailesh,

Thanks, but the \ does not appear to be 'under' any key or key combination. I have a partial solution by installing Apple's Bootcamp Drivers V3 (although these are not yet entirely compatible with Windows 7 x64 and have to be knife and forked to be installed). This now gives me the \ where it should be but I have lost the £ key (it's now a #). Apple are due to release an update to Bootcamp drivers before the end of the year to make them fully compatible with Windows 7 and I will see if they completely solve the problem.

    Hi,

I've managed to get a backslash by hitting control, alt and the backslash key on a Mac keyboard.
