Hello everyone, I installed VMware-Fusion-e.x.p-20486664_universal.dmg, downloaded ubuntu-22.04.3-desktop-amd64.iso and am trying to launch it, but fusion gives an error, what should I do?

Also I did this "ln -s /Applications/VMware_Fusion_Tech_Preview.app/Contents/MacOS/VMware_Fusion /Applications/VMware_Fusion_Tech_Preview.app", otherwise the fusion will not start, and of course changed the bit depth of the machine from 64 bit to arm64.

Why are you installing a tech preview which has expired already, since the production version was released back in the Fall of 2023?  Use the latest 13.5.0 version.

Also, you need the aarch64 version of Ubuntu, not the amd64 version.

See the Ubuntu chapter in the Unofficial Fusion for Apple Silicon Companion Guide https://communities.vmware.com/t5/VMware-Fusion-Documents/The-Unofficial-Fusion-for-Apple-Silicon-Companion-Guide/ta-p/2939907/page/2

There is a discussion on how to get Ubuntu Desktop (or equivalent) for ARM. Canonical doesn’t make it easy to get a Ubuntu Desktop that will run on arm64 in general..

FWIW, I built a 'base' ubuntu VM, then just copy that as I need new ones.  Saves hunting down the latest release over and over again.
