  • 1.  Mac host application shortcut with multiple virtual machines

I have Fusion Player 13.5.0 installed on MacOS Big Sur host. I have 2 Windows 11 virtual machines: one for the family to share (Windows 11) and one specifically for me (Paul's Windows 11). I want to create a shortcut link on my desktop that opens an app (Quicken) in Paul's Windows 11 VM. I navigate to Paul's Windows 11.vmwarevm/Applications and create a link on my desktop to Quicken Windows — Paul's Windows 11.app inside the Applications folder. However, when I doubleclick the link, it opens the app in the Windows 11.vmwarevm VM.

How can I get the app to open Paul's Windows 11 VM and start the app. I have autologin on the VM so it should boot right up to the app.

This may or may not be your problem, but you do know that Fusion 13.5 isn't supported on Big Sur?

From the Fusion 13.5 release notes:

    System Requirements

    • Hardware

Intel or Apple Silicon Mac models.

      • Mac models that support macOS 12 Monterey or later.

    • Software

      • macOS 12 Monterey and macOS 13 Ventura.

      • macOS 14 Sonoma
