  • 1.  Installing SEPM 12.1.4

    I currently run SEPM 12.1.101. Would like to upgrade to 12.1.4. I have downloaded all of the files for the upgrade. I have read many though probably not all of the documentation supplied on the subject-best practices, migration paths, etc. Which file do I double click to initiate the upgrade?

    In the SEPM folder, run setup.exe. The SEPM folder IS the necessary upgrade for the SEPM.

    Just make sure you took your backup before doing the upgrade

    Thank You for the quick response. I'm new to posting comments. I think I've attached a screenshot of the directory where I downloaded the 12.1.4 files. James, Your "graphical overview" link was definitely helpfull. I hadn't found that document. But... as is hopefully shown in my attachement, I don't see a SEPM folder in my directory. Some of the files have a "7/7" Icon which I haven't seen before. When I right click, I don't see an option to "unzip".

    Extract the contents of Symantec_Endpoint_Protection_12.1.4_SEPM_EN

    This will contain the full SEPM install/upgrade

    Just for future reference, PART1 will contain all the necessary files for both clients and SEPM. PART2 contains documentation.

    Everything is just broken out in case you want to download individual items.

    Thank you for posting in Symantec community.

    From SEP 12.1 RU1 onwards Symantec is giving an options to download full product in two parts i.e par1 & part 2 or download individual files like SEPM setup, SEP 32 bit setup, SEP 64 bit setup, Tools as per the requirements.

    It gives more levarage to the Symantec customers to choose what he wants. In many cases it's seen that customers used to required only SEP setup and unnecssarily he had to download entire zip file which was around 1.5 GB in size.

    Either extract Part1_Installation_EN or SEPM_EN.

    You will see SEPM folder and it includes setup.exe.

    There is not any major change in the upgrade process. Only change is Port 8446 will be used for Remote Management web services.
