    hello from france

i am testing and evaluating sep 12
i have installed it on windows 2000 advanced server then installed is server 2004 and last installed client sep

to access to the console symantec endpoint protection it runs java and ask for login and password

    isa server blocks the connection:
ssl-tunnel protocol (8443) source interne destination localhost

i have used a script (isaserver.org) from isatools.org (isa_tpr.js) to add non standard ssl port (8443)

i still get the same block

does someone has a solution for that

i guess the same trouble should happen with small business server ?

    many thanks in advance

You may try changing the 8443 to diff port

Stop the 'Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager' service.
start all programs - symantec endpoint protecion manager.
    select management server configuration wizard

    2. On the 'Welcome to the Management Server Configuration Wizard' screen, select the option to 'Reconfigure the management server' and click on next

Change the port number specified in the 'Server Port' field to an alternate port that is available and not in use by any other application. The DEFAULT port is 8443

give it any port which is not blocked by ISA.

and click on next , dont make any changes on the subsiquent screens.

try now , it should be fine.

many thanks for your prompt answer

now the java from sep tries to connect externaly and not any more on the local host:

    method HTTP URL
0.0.0.0 agent clien Java/1.6.0_07 service Non Proxy server METROGATE  destination host 77.67.40.64 TCP   - -  - Req ID: 0cc81b43  - - - 12202 L'ordinateur ISA Server a refusé l'URL (Uniform Resource Locator) spécifiée.  0x0 0x0 Filtre de proxy Web 12/08/2009 15:37:59 77.67.40.64 80 http Connexion refusée Accès Web (User) 192.168.1.250 anonymous Hôte local Externe GET http://77.67.40.64/avcenter/threatcon.zip

it is very funy but not encouraging

    hello

the first solution was the good one

maybe i had to restart the firewall between two attempts but after the test behind i restablished the port to 8443

and i tried again and it works

    the solution then is:

get the script isa-tpr.js from www.isatools.org (or a zip version that runs graphically)

follow the article from iasserver.org concerning ssl-tunnel alternate port

restart all services and it should work

    best regards to all
