I am not sure where you are seeing this error message: "corrupted content SEP_Content_DistMonitor_v4.8_BETA" - can you post exactly what you are seeing-?

Also, what version of SEP are you using?

You have two options to FIX it

    1. Remove the Corrupt Definitions, u can use Rx4defs utilty or manually remove it

    2. Remove and reinstall Symantec Endpoint Protection

    Hello!

Try to run SEP support tool, located here:

    http://www.symantec.com/business/support/index?page=content&id=TECH105414

If this not give a good solution use cleanwipe which tool to remove SEP and reintall is.

You can find the cleanwipe here:

    <edit> Link removed by Admin

Actually the correct way to get clenwipe to contact the support, but my way is faster :D

By the way ther is a KB article how to remove sep manulally:

    http://www.symantec.com/business/support/index?page=content&id=TECH102261&locale=en_US

If you need more help don't hesitate to come back :)

I want to sort the issue without reinstalling the same, because reinstalling is not a solution of any issue.

I have not seen that particlar error in years- what version of SEP are you running, and on what OS?  Are these very low-spec machines?

One more thing to check: is the time and date on the computer incorrect?  If the computer is configured to a date that is off by many years, there is a chance that this may also occur.

    • Which version of SEP?
    • What is the OS / service pack? How much RAM, what is the processor speed, etc.?
    • When did this start happening: after an upgrade to SEP or to the operating system?
    • Does the Support Tool provide any helpful Errors or Warnings?
    • Are there policy restrictions on processes, or are these hardened systems?

I haven't seen this issue crop up for SEP before. More info on your environment is needed...

Have you tried applying the Intelligent Updater in case it's a definition corruption situation?

I have got one solution which i have implemnted in my systems till it's working..

I have stop the symantec Services "Symantec Endpoint Protection" & "Symantec Management Client"

then rename the folder "Symantec Shared" with "Symantec Shared old" (path of this folder C:\Program Files\Common Files)

then Start the Services "Symantec Endpoint Protection" & "Symantec Management Client"

    This solution is working

I have checked the same 20-30 min. Now services are in Start mode.

Also systems are with Latest Update.
