    Hello everybody,

I have a customer having troubles installing SEP 12.1.2 RU2 Small Business on Windows 8.

Running Cleanwipe and reinstalling does not solves the issue. A message is displayed in the middle of the installation process saying that the Wizzard has been interrupted before completion of the installation.

The SEP_INST.log only displays the following error:

CustomAction checkFileSetInteractive returned actual error code 1602 (note this may not be 100% accurate if translation happened inside sandbox)

I attach the log here. Any advice will be really appreciated.

    Thanks in advance!

    Hello,

It seems you are running the .msi file from the Network drive:

Upon checking the logs, we found:

     \\fbaserver\FOGA\DATOS\INFORMATICA FOGA\INFORMATICA FOGA\02 - Aplicaciones - Utilidades\1 - UTILIDADES SERVIDORES\SYMANTEC ENDPOINT PROTECTION 12.1.2\SEP_SBE_12.1.2_Part1_Installation_SL\SEPx64\Sep64.msi

I would suggest you to either use the setup file to be copied to the Local machine and then run the .msi file from the local machine.

    OR

Deploy the package via Client Deployment Wizard, check this Article:

    Client Deployment Wizard Overview

    https://www-secure.symantec.com/connect/articles/client-deployment-wizard-overview

    Hope that helps!!

    Hello,

Could you please pull the fresh SEP_Inst.logs from the client machine?

The previous logs were in Spanish? Is the Client machine language set to Spanish?

Secondly, I hope you have investigated properly that the Microsoft update KB2781197 is not installed and Windows Defender is turned off.

Was there any previous installation of SEP installed on the client machine?

    Sorry for the late reply.

We finally solved the issue installing SEP 12.1.2 RU2 MP1, and disabling previously UAC which was also enabled. Im not sure which one of the solutions was actually the one that made everything work...but that's it.

Thank you everyone for your suggestions!
