Gmail chat block

Hi,

How can i block gmail chat. This was providing gmail in their gmail email access.

i had block gtalk from SEP firewall policy but not able to block cretin chat from gmail mail access.

pls suggest

Hello,

You can block chat on iGoogle (and Gmail too I think) by blocking talkgadget.google.com & hostedtalkgadget.google.com with a :443/ extention -- but keep in mind this could affect other Google services like Google Docs that also use chat features.

For Gmail you can block www.google.com/ig/gmailmax which should deny access to most Gmail features. There's no way to block absolutely all of Gmail on iGoogle without blocking iGoogle entirely.
