  • 1.  ITMS 7.6 Upgrade Paths

    My production box is still at 7.1 SP2 MP1.1 with my test at 7.5 SP1 where I just watched the prerecorded ITMS 7.6 webcast.  Honestly, I haven't had much time to play around with 7.5 but the new features demoed in 7.6 look pretty cool to me.  I was wondering if going from 7.1 to 7.6 will be a viable upgrade path?

    The supported upgrade paths of the IT Management Suite (ITMS) solutions and the Symantec Management Platform (SMP) from the earlier release versions to the latest release version are as follows:

    ITMS 7.1 SP2 MP1.1
    This includes the SMP build version 7.1.8401

     

    ITMS 7.5 SP1 HF5
    This includes the SMP build version 7.5.3300

    Depending upon your current ITMS installation, following are the recommended upgrade installation to upgrade to ITMS 7.6:

    Don't forget you'll lose OOB and the ability to manage pcAnywhere.

    There is no Out of Band solution in ITMS 7.5 and later. And Barcode Solution isn't in 7.6, 7.5 SP1 was the last version.
