    Hi

I'm confused about new protection suite, is this a new version or new bundle? How does it relate to SEP 12?

    SPS is two new bundles:

SPS Small Business Edition consists of:

Symantec Endpoint Protection Small Business Edition 12.0
    Symantec AntiVirus for Mac
    Symantec Mail Security for Exchange
    Symantec Premium AntiSpam
Symantec Backup Exec System Recovery Desktop Edition

    SPS Enterprise Edition consists of:

    Symantec Endpoint Protection 11.x
Symantec Network Access Control Self Enforcement
    Symantec AntiVirus for Mac
    Symantec AntiVirus for Linux
Symantec Mobile AntiVirus for Windows Mobile
    Symantec Brightmail Gateway
Symantec Mail Security for Microsoft Exchange
    Symantec Mail Security for Domino
    Symantec Premium AntiSpam
Symantec Backup Exec System Recovery Desktop Edition

    They replace the MultiTier offerings.

What other information are you after?

    Hi

    Thanks Paul,

    1) So first of all SEP 12.0 is ready becaue I can see SPS small business is ready to offer from Symantec from 4th of May. is it right?

    2) Will there be any other version for enterprise that have SEP 12.0 (or equivalent one) any time soon?

    3) What is NAC self-enforcement? Is it the same as "starter edition" ?

    4) Who is eligable to upgrade to SPS Enterprise? (current customers)

Dont get version numbers confused with a new product technology...

There is one product catered to companies less than 100 users, as well as not having the same level of security(no device control, no NAC, and I believe the FW is disabled?).

Then there is a product that gives you the whole kitchen sink...

V11, v12, you need to look at the feature sets, not just version numbers in this case.  Although if you ask me, it seems rather non-intuitive. ;-)

    @reza

    1. SEPSBE 12.0 is ready, yes.  SEP 12.0 is not.
    2. SEP 12.0 will come later
    3. Yes, pretty much, self-enforcement is what the majority of Starter Edition contains - its the host integrity bit basically
    4. Customers running Multi Tier Protection and SAV Enterprise Edition can cross grade to SPS EE at no additional cost to a standard renewal.  It is recommended that customers cross-grade at renewal time.  There is no automatic entitlement at this point, SPS is a new product offering and not an upgrade to the MultiTier products.
