    Hi,

SEP is not yet compatible with MAC. However, you can use SAV for Mac for protecting these machines.

    Cheers,

@Aniket Amdekar: Thanks for the feedback...
we are going to launch SEPM to one of our remote sites that has all MAC computers...
This will break the heart of my boss...

Since we are already  migrating all SAV computers to SEP...

Could you point me to an article about MAC's comp[atiubility with SEP Sir?
Need to give him supporting documents..
I would also study it before proposing..

    thanks...

forgot to mention that we are using SAV 10.1 if SEP would not be compatible...
It will be manage by our SEPM servers... SEP MR4 MP1a...
    appreciate all your feedbacks..
    it really helps...
Hope to get the KBs and links for my request..
    thanks...

    Hi Nel,

Just to clarify... you cannot manage your SAV 10 installation from your SEPM servers.
They shoud be managed by a SSC or left unmanaged.
Regarding the installation of SAV 10 on MAC, check the documentation in the CD. It's useless to copy&past them here.

    Best regards,

    Hi,

As SEP can not be installed on Macintosh machines, there is no documentation for SEPM for Mac. SAV 10.1 can not be managed by SEPM. It is managed by SSC [Symantec System Centre].

PLease go through the document below:

Can Symantec Endpoint Protection be installed on a Macintosh computer?

Macs cannot be managed by the Symantec System Center.  They are managed by their own management console, the Symantec Administration Console for Macintosh (SACM), which must be installed on a Macintosh server OS.

    I hope this helps.

    This is good stuff sandra.g...
That is right, that is why Symantec told us that it would be a separate lisence...
We still need to confirm this with our big boss...

Are you using this configuration Sandra?
The reason why is that we had not yet implemented Symantec on Mac OS...
Do you have mixed OS that is being protected by Symantec?

    Thanks...

you must have SACM as sandra said, however you can plugin management of SACM to SSC then you will manage everything from one console (but you still must have SACM installed on some macintosh)

    thanks for the prep...
The first step we need would be to buy licenses for the MACS...
we shall inform logistics about this...
I shall give you feed back as soon as the licenses comes in...

We have a SACM and several Macs in our test environment.  I also have some Windows machines (one running SEP, one running SAV) but they are all managed separately.  Unfortunately that is the only way you can do it right now, but SEPM integration is on the way.

It is true you can view the SACM via the SSC but you're linking to a web page which is the SACM login.

I am a Symantec employee, even though it doesn't say so. :)

ETA:  Now it says so!  :D
