    People,

Can anyone here please share with me how to automate Cleanwipe to be executed on a list of users before I begin the SEP client deployment to prevent unwanted issue of Network connection problem after the upgrade ?

    hello,

Symantec does not recommended run clean wipe remotely

    You can use SEPprep utility

    SEPprep: http://www.symantec.com/docs/TECH148513

You may want to try SEPprep utility. Its a competitive product uninstall tool. But it can also be configured to uninstall SEP Client by modifying the following line in the SEPprep.ini file.

    RemoveSymantec=Y

You can push this to the clients through GPO (like a logon script) or using a deployment tool.

    Remotaly uninstall

I have tested this long back not sure if it works with SEP 12.1

    Get cleanwipe from Symantec support

    rename it to SETUP.exe

go to the migration and deployment wizard. Select you already have a package and want to deploy it

    select the setup.exe.

Check this on single machine before running on the rest

P.S: I haven't tested this. So run it on your own risk :)

Wow, SEP Prep, I've never heard of that tool before :-)

So if this tool can be used before deploying the SEP client through MS SCCM, that'd be awesome.

    Hello,

I am not sure you can run through sccm but you can uninstall via GPO.

How to uninstall the Symantec Endpoint Protection Client using the Microsoft Installer (MSI) command line interface.

SEPPrep thru SCCM works just fine assuming you use the correct switches and configure the ini correctly.
