Download and run the symhelp tool on the SEPM to do error checking:

Troubleshooting computer issues with the Symantec Help support tool

    Hello,

    Check this Article:

Only 32 Bit Antivirus / Antispyware Definitions are not updating on the 32 Bit / 64 Bit Operating System.

    http://www.symantec.com/docs/TECH122857

Have you tried updating with JDB file?

Download .jdb files to update definitions for Endpoint Protection Manager

    Hope that helps!!

The problem still persists, and update using jdb is failed.

    Thanks

I'd also suggest taking a look at the below article and reviewing the log.liveupdate and sesmu.log files mentioned for errors:

    https://support.symantec.com/en_US/article.TECH105924.html

By the way, does your SEPM point directly at Symantec for defs, or do you use a LUA?  If the latter, have you checked that it is correctly updating too?

    Hello!

It seems i have exactly the same issue (see https://www-secure.symantec.com/connect/forums/sepm-1215-not-able-update-win32-virus-definitons#comment-11067011)

I am also pretty sure that my definitions are corrupted in SQL db.

Are you using embedded database or a SQL database? for me, i am using a SQL database hosted on a separate server.

Do you know what is the tool doing, please?

    Thank you

    Regards,
