    C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Symantec\Cached Installs

    Is this folder Needed?  Or the GUID named folder inside of it?  Or can I dump this to create some space on the System drive?

    I believe it's there in case you need to do a repair. It can be deleted but do so at your own risk.

    Its safe to delete this folder ; all the software cached installs are stored here;

    Deleting this source will also prevent autoupdate from the SEPM from being able to provide delta updates.  The client uses the source to rebuild the new install package and run the upgrade.  Without the cached installation, the client will have to pull a full install package for autoupdate.

    Hi,

    The cached install cannot be deleted.

    The product relies on this file being present.  An attempt to delete the file will cause an msi re-install of SEP to occur, and the end result is that the cached install will be placed back in the cached installs folder.  Stopping SEP services prior to deletion of the cached install results in the successful deletion of the cache, but upon service startup, the cache will be replaced.
