    Hi,

I have a number of W2K3 Servers that do not update their Virus Definitions. All of the Servers connect to our SEPM Servers and we use load balanced GUPs. This mechanism works for a vast majority of our servers (we have over 2500).

    Version 11.0.6100.645

I have tried using my admin account to fire up SMC. removing the HTTP info in the .default users section in the registry, trashing the defs manually and using the rx4 defs util.Note that I can telnet to both sepm and gup servers using the relevant port.

    Any ideas greatfully received.

The sylink monitor log looks like this:

try upgrading to the latest version of SEP if not possible, is GUP up and running? if yes, let know if the following steps help

Remove the Proxy settings from GUP server .

Take Registry back up and delete proxy settings from . HKEY_USERS\.DEFAULT\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings Restart the system .

New registry entries will be generated for the system with which help SEP client to connect to the GUP and get the updates

Hi, The GUPs are up and running fine. I have removed the proxy settings and rebooted the server. SMC is running using the local system account. Still seeing the http error 0. Any ideas ? The two servers I am working on are....W2K SP4. Yes I hear the groans..

sure, if it does not help. Try upgrading the GUP to latest and verify if it resolves the issue.
