  • 1.  License Exceeded when Editing a Resource

    When trying to edit a resource we are receiving the error:

     

    The license count for CMDB Solution has been exceeded.

    What we found is that we are receiving this only when another user is also editing a resource (not necessarily the same resource).  Has anyone else seen this?  Is only one user able to edit resources at a time?

    CMDB is licensed per concurrent connection.  So, if you have 1 CMDB license and 1 user accessing the edit resource page, then any subsequent users will get this error.  You will also notice that a license is held for 5 minutes and then is freed up.

    However - if you only have one license, when you attempt to edit a custom Configuration item it tells you that the single license is taken up - as it tries to open a new window and appears to require an extra license.

    The only way around this is to leave the window open for 5 minutes until the license gets handed back, then without pressing refresh, right mouse click on the CI and click edit.

    Far from ideal.
