  • 1.  out of memory when upgrade SEPM from 11 to 12

    Hi all,

    I have some SEPM server has running version 11. Now I want to upgrade they to version 12.

    When I run upgrade process, it notice me

    what happen with my server?

    and a server has some problem, I want to disaster recovery from version 11 to version 12, I uninstall version 11 anh reinstall version 12. when I configure management server, I use recovery file but it notice me

    I try to use zip file and also try to use recovery folder but it notice the same.

    Please help me.

    have you take proper backup as per below articles

    How mouch memory is on and available on this server?  Are you able to stop some services to free up enough for the upgrade?

    The server has 2GB RAM, I had increase to 3GB RAM but it still out of memory

    2GB is the bare minimum that the SEPM installs on, do you have the option of stopping other services or applications to free up more RAM?

    I would be glad to answer your query.

    2 GB RAM available minimum; 4 GB RAM or more available recommended.
    Note: Your SEPM server may require additional RAM depending on the RAM requirements of other applications that are already installed.

    The Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager (SEPM) 11.x recovery file is a text file that is compiled manually by the administrator during preparation for the possible need of disaster recovery. It is not possible to directly restore an 11.0 backup on a 12.1 system - the recommended steps are to restore on a new 11.0 SEPM install, then upgrade to 12.1

    Total how many clients are in the network? Upgrade process is very straight forward. Check this article

    What have you done for remove recovery file error ?

    Your input help for someone infuture same problem.
