We are getting ready to install BackupExec 2010, and during the process will migrate our media servers from Win2008 32-bit to Win2008 R2 64-bit. SEPM is installed on one of our media servers.

Do we just follow the disaster recovery guide for SEPM to basically back it up, upgrade the server, and then reinstall it? We are using the embedded database. The server will keep the name and IP address after re-install of the OS.

    Thanks,

    that is more than enough,
however if you are running backupexec and sepm on same server you need to consious about ports used by both applications.incase if both are using same port you can change any one of them...

Following Disaster Recovery would be the best option.

Excellent, thanks for the feedback. Rafeeq, yes, we have both products and I'm aware of the issues with ports. Thanks for the link, saved me some trouble looking it up.
