  • 1.  HP Data Protector backups on SEPM

I am planning to use HP Data Protector on my SEPM to perform nightly backups.   Do I need to create any exclusions in the Data Protector software related to SEP files/folders ?

I have searched Symantec Support and all of Connect but didn't find any documentation.  Thought I would double-check here on the forum.  Thanks in advance.

There wasn't any needed in Symantec BE so I would think it wont be needed for HP Data Protector as well..However Disable Tamper Protection on SEP clients as it might create problems during backup..

I have never heard andy issues with Data Protector. You should be fine without exclusions.

Yes, try it out..it should not give you any issues...if it does, then you can create exceptions....

Also, you may uncheck  san when files are backedup, from file system auto-protect, in AV/AS policy.
