    I am pleased to announce PRE-registration for the DS 7.1 SP2 BETA is open NOW!

    In order to participate in the DS 7.1 SP2 BETA, you need to complete a brief (5 minute) survey. We will select beta customers from among those who have completed the survey. You must complete the survey in order to be considered for the beta.
     
    Features we are currently targeting for this release include
    • RHEL 6.x support (including ext4 imaging support)
    • SLES 11 SP1 support
    • DS API for custom automation
    • PXE Service Changes
    •      De-couple PXE from Task and Package Server dependency
    •      Merged into Site Service Management
    •      Individual PXE Server Install/Uninstall
    •      Individual PXE Server Enable/Disable
    •      Individual PXE Server Logging Enable/Disable
    •      MAC Address Filtering (global setting)
    • Leverage Package Servers for Image Storage
    • Support SSL in the Automation environment (PECT Agent support for SSL)
    • WinPE 3.x support
    • Predefined Computer Changes
    •      Right-click, New Computer in the console
    •      Import and use all data within pre-defined computer spreadsheet
    •      Choice of ID for Keys
    •      Support DS 6.9 “Virtual Computers”
    • Unknown Computer naming supports Serial Number based names
    • Manual Job Selection within Automation
    •      Manually select a job by using the F8 prompt within PXE
    •      Configure F8 prompt timeout
    • Boot Option Features
    •      Support for Additional Unknown Computer boot options
    •      Keyboard and Screen Lock in Automation
    •      Customer Background in Automation
    The beta is expected to start around the first part of December 2011 and run for approximately 3 months.

    For all the screaming, wailing, and gnashing of teeth, I certainly expected some of those same people to be weeping with joy at this post.  Yet it remains strangely silent.  Oh well.  This is good news, Rick!

    Yes, we are still waiting for SSL Support in the Automation environment!
