    Hi,

    Open registry editor,

    Go to HKLM/System/CurrentControlSet/Control/sessionmanager

and delete the key 'PendingFileRenameOperations '

then try to rerun the installer.

Which version of SEP Client are you trying to install?

On which operating system are you install?

    Check the following article

Title: 'Installer Information - "Symantec Endpoint Protection has detected that there are pending system changes that require a reboot." when trying to install SEP 11.0 on Windows 7'
    Web URL: http://service1.symantec.com/support/ent-security.nsf/docid/2009081814135748?Open&seg=ent

Title: 'Symantec Endpoint Protection (SEP) 11 client installation fails with the message "Pending system changes that require a reboot have been detected"'

    Try this:

    Delete this string from regedit.msc

    HKLM/SYSTEM/Currentcontrolset/control/session manager/pendingfilenamereboot

Delete "pendingfilenamereboot" and try reinstall SEP.

Symantec Endpoint Protection has detected that there are pending system changes that require a reboot. Please reboot the system and rerun the installation.”

What we do is open the registry and navigate to

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\SessionManager and locate
PendingFileRenameOperations and rename it to  PendingFileRenameOperations2 and then try to install the product.
