firewall off, turned off UAC, server restrted, sql uninstalled ,

Installed sql server again (now only one instance,  instance name server\sep)

iis role removed and  added role again  as per the documents below

    http://service1.symantec.com/SUPPORT/ent-security.nsf/docid/2008052707113348?Open&seg=ent

then tried to nstall SEPM , while installation progressng  got the error below

    "
To continue  the installation ,make sure that the the IIS world wde web publishing service (w3svc) is installed and running . on computers that run iis 7.0 or later , the following  iis role services must also be installed : asp.net ,cgi, and iis 6.0 Management compatblity .:

after the asp.net   installed  installation started .

but  the installaton ended up in " the database is  being created and initilized .this will take a few minutes , initializing databse ..........."

Anyone  has succeeded in  SEPM +SQL 2005

    server ram :2 gb
    server os "win 2008 ent 32 +sp2
    sql server : sql 2005 +sp2

We have to consider all the things..
Win2k8, SQL 2005,SEPM  everything will consume good amount of memory......

Happy to hear your problem got solved...
