  • 1.  Altiris Agent is crasing because of Module: oleaut32.dll

    Dear Team,

    We have some computers have issue with Altiris Agent v7.5 is crasing unable to start Altiris service

    I have collected CrashDumps please find below log result:

    I tried to reinstall Altiris client removed all reg. entries removed all plugins but no success.

    Altiris Agent service is crashing on computer with Out of Band (OOB) plug-in installed after upgrading from Symantec Management Platform 7.1 SP1 to 7.1 SP2

    I am Using Altiris 7.5 and this issue is only with few computers.

    Also provide Remove_oob.exe so I can try option 2.

    You nee to contact Technical Support for Remove_oob.exe

    Hi Gajanan, if you could share the actual EZ file then I might be able to find the cause of the crash and suggest a solution if one exists. I'm afraid you cannot attach such a big file so please use some file sharing service. You don't have to pack EZ file, it's already packed.

    The crash should be fixed in 7.5 HF3 - in your case SMA agent crashes while iterating through the list of services and encountered a not standard startup type for "Themes" service.

    Could you please check the startup type for "Themes" service? It has some weird value.

    Pkease run "sc qc themes" in Windows Console and post the output here.

    And HF3 is available for download for couple of months already, you can upgrade using SIM.

    Yes, I got it I have fixed the theme service now it is fixed
