    SEPM 11.0.4202.75 on Windows Server 2003 R2
SQL Server 2008 Standard SP3 on Windows Server 2008 SP2

Looking to migrate our default database to SQL Server. Are there any articles that someone can point me to, for this process?  Read a few forum posts regarding creating the SQL database upon installation, so would it be better to wait until the MR5 release and take care of both at once (migration to SQL and upgrade SEPM)? Any advice would be appreciated.

If you only want to move the database then check this document

If you want to move the SEPM & the database then check this document

I agree with Kavin, SEPM can be installed with SQL 2008 server but it is not supported.

Yes, it is possible to install the Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager using SQL Server 2008 as the backend, but the procedure for the same is at present unsupported, since the present builds of the SEPM do not recognize SQL 2008 as a valid backend source, unless manually specified.

I would advice you to wait for some more time as MR5 will be relaesed in the early part of Sep, 2009  which will have support for SQL server 2008 and 2008 R2 both

Waiting for 2 weeks will minimize your  efforts when MR 5 is released

Interestingly enough, moving to SQL from the embedded database is well documented in the installation guide.

Who knew that a manual which is a document not a person named Manuel....  Has real useful information...

If you are a man, suck it up and look through the "Installation guide."  It's documented with step by step instructions.  Oh dont forget the DR section as well, it's quite informative too.
