I noticed this morning my two SEPM showed "Latest from Symantec: 09/10/2014 r2" I ran liveupdate on SEPM's and it downloaded "09/11/20144 r35" however the latest from symantec did not update.

    Have plenty of disk space.

Sounds like they're having technical issues as nothing has been updated yet past 9/10

So I hadn't checked my MAC's, which download directly from Symantec anyway and their DEF's are 09/10/2014 r2 also.

I hadn't checked this earlier, when I clicked on in SEPM's...

    9-12-2014 0757 MST.jpg

      It's showing:

    9-12-2014 0758 MST.jpg

Not good. I'm somewhat suprised a Symantec employee hasn't commented on this thread

    Hello all,

Cheers for the posts, above- yes, SEP 12.1 definitions are available via LiveUpdate.  For customers still running SEP 11 (please upgrade to 12.1, SEP 11 users: less than four months remain before SEP 11 reaches its EOL) I recommend downloading and applying Rapid Release definitions as soon as possible.

This article will help to deploy this protection throughout the organization:

How to update definitions for Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager (SEPM) using a .jdb file

    Article URL http://www.symantec.com/docs/TECH102607

Or the RR defs can be applied to a single client:

How to apply rapid release definitions to a Symantec Endpoint Protection (SEP) client.

    Article URL http://www.symantec.com/docs/TECH104979

Should definitions ever be unavailable for more than a day via LiveUpdate, I definitely recommend applying a Rapid Release set.

Hope this helps!  I will update this thread later when news is available.

    Mick

FYI: At least for SEP 11, Symantec's website indicates 9/10/14 is the latest AV definitions available when I checked just now.

File-based AV - Updated daily (with SEP's Multiple Daily Definitions, certified content is typically released three times a day Monday through Friday; one time per day on weekends).

Network-Based Protection (IPS)- SEP Security Updates (SU) are generally updated on Weekdays (M-F - no releases scheduled for weekend or major holidays in the United States).

Behavior-Based Protection / Proactive Threat Protection - There is no set schedule.  The article linked below contains additional information.

Reputation-Based Protection (Insight) - Continually updated as it is a cloud based detection.

For additional details please visit: http://www.symantec.com/security_response/definitions.jsp

Rapid release defintion is updated on daily bases.

I recommend you to update the Rapid release defintion.

It's now Monday, 9/15/14, where the updates seemed short lived.  My last virus definition update shows 9/13/14 as reflected on Symantec's website.
