    Hello,

I have a problem when running the full inventory on some Win2008 R2 Servers (without installed Visual Studio) .The InvWmiLauncher.exe program crash, and I receive the above message error:

The Agents show the task as Running:

In  this Link https://www-secure.symantec.com/connect/forums/inventory-crash-visual-c-debug-library has someone the same error but without a solution.

Does someone have an idea what the problem cause?

Do you at least have the F: drive?

Capture this issue in Process Monitor and then open a support case.

The file referred to in the error is the location of the module used by the developer at the time of building the application. I'm betting they have an F drive. :)

According to Symantec, the issue was resolved in IT Management Suite 7.1 SP2 MP1 and is described in IT Management Suite 7.1 SP2 MP1, Release Notes, Fixed Issues, Table 1-10, Item 12.

Issue: "Debug Assertion Failed!" error during Full Inventory scans

Description: User getting a Debug Assertion Failed!" error during Full Inventory scans. It is a "Microsoft Visual C++ Debug Library" error.

Its important to note that this issue exists outside of this product. It appears to be an issue with date handling that was resolved in Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 SP1 Redistributable Package (x86).

We have found that Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 SP1 Redistributable Package (x86) was not installed on a computer experiencing this issue. Of note, it did have other Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributables such as 2008/2010; both x86 and x64. Documentation for Inventory Solution for Servers states Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 SP1 Redistributable Package (x86) is a requirement; its possible this is a requirement for the standard Inventory Solution as well.
