I recently upgraded to DS 6.9 SP1 and since then I have not been able to successfully image any of my test lab's machines with either Vista or Win2008 images. All of my WinXP and Win2003 images work fine.

As far as DS is concerned the imaging ends successfully. But when I go to long onto the machine with a domain account I get the message "The trust relationship between this workstation and the primary domain failed".

I have images that were syspreped and when they were deployed I unchecked the "Automatically perform configuration task after completing this imaging task" checkbox. I have also tried images that were not syspreped and had that checkbox checked. Either way I have this problem.

Under 6.8 I didn't have this problem with these images. Has anyone seen this before and have any ideas what I can do to fix this?

Hi, this is my first post to the forum.

I 've had the same problem after upgrading to SP1, but it didn't just affect Vista and Win2008. I had XP computers breaking their AD computer account also. I *think* the Altiris client agent was duplicating computers on the domain. You'll need to reset the accounts in AD, and re-enable them if they are disabled.

I have fixed this problem by applying the MP1 patch to DS 6.9 SP1. This will upgrade all the agents to build 366. However, I had to install a Webconsole that I don't need, to allow the MP1 patch to install, then remove the webconsole afterwards. Initially I thought I did not need the MP1 patch because, if you don't have a webconsole, MP1 will not install. This is a bad design feature.

I also had to create new images using machines which had the 366 agent on them. These images are deploying successfully. I already tried editing my existing images to replace the agents, but that has not been reliable enough.

The answer was to install the MP1 as suggested. I eventually got through to DS support and learned of this. The dagent in the DS 6.9 SP1 didn't work correctly and you needed to get the 366 version to get Vista and Win2008 working. I didn't have the problem with WinXP and Win2003 because those images use the AClient.
