    Hi,

    i have hp thin client with formated flash. How to distribute my last image to this computer through PXE?

    no solution? we are using Altiris 6.9

    You will need to create a distribute disk image job with the image that you want to deploy.  You would then need to assign that job to the computer in DS.

    This assumes that you already have a PXE environment set up.

    thank youb, hawver,

    i have atached the job to the computer (tha computer was working earlier, now it's empty) I want to distribute image, that computer is now not active, and job is started on that computer.

    After i reboot thin client i have press F8 to boot to DOS image after booting error i get say:

    Unable to connect to the Deployment Server
    TCP Stack has been shut down
    Booting to production....

    that i missed?

    That leads me to believe that the DOS automation does not have the correct network drivers for that machine.  You will need to update the drivers.

    Yes, you would want to see that.  Are all of your other clients showing up as online?  What we are looking for is why the client is not able to contact the Deployment Server.  Did the DS get moved to a new server/IP?  Is the PXE agent set to use multicast to discover the DS?  If so, can you change it to point directly to the DS IP?

    it seems that connection to the DB was lost, i rebboted the server and now if i try to deploy new hp thin image i get:

    Failed to get disk geometry (0)!

    whats does this meen?

    I did a quick search and there a number of hits out there, but nothing that I found with a resolution.  It may be related to how the drive appears to RDeploy and the fact that it is probably a flash or solid state drive.

    Do you have an active AUP?  You might give Altiris/Symantec support a call to see what they have to say and if there is a work around.

    i am stil unable to boot and deploy empty client with the image ?  how to import drivers to the dos pre boot image?
