I am trying to uninstall PGP Desktop.  I have screen shots how to assist me with completing.

I right click on the icon and select open PGP Desktop

I then click Encrypt Whole Disk

Here is where I run into an issue....Decrypt is not an option on the top right.  it states encrypt and it is greyed out.

Apparently I have to run this process to uninstall the program.  I tried to go to add remove programs and it tells me that I have enountered a fatal error and it halts to the uninstallation.

    Any ideas?

I'm not sure that I understand your situation.  It sounds like you want to uninstall PGP, but that you have encrypted your disk and therefore need to decrypt the disk first?

If you did not encrypt your disk, there is no need to decrypt it.

If you did encrypt it and are not able to decrypt it, you may need to use the PGP WDE Recovery CD for the decryption.  You can find a link for it in this Knowledge Base Article

The screen shots that I have for uninstalling PGP state to decrypt the whole disk.

When I go to click decrypt it is not an available option.  It states encrypt and it is greyed out.

My guess is that the software was loaded and it never properly encrypted the hard drive.

Perhaps I should encrypt the hard drive and then try to decrypt it to later uninstall it??

If this is the case, how do I encrypt the whole disk?

I'd suggest you use the command line usage in this Knowledge Base Article to assess the encryption status of your disk.  If it isn't encrypted, you can just skip the part about decrypting it.
