  • 1.  SMP 7.1 SP1 and Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager on the same server

    Posted May 27, 2011 08:07 PM

I have a server running Windows Server 2008 R2, has installed Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager 11 MR6, then installed Symantec Installation Manager, and when I try to install SMP 7.1, when the SIM is  checking the prerequisites show the following error, which is unable to correct.

today with the release of SMP 7.1 SP 1, SIM run again, but it generates the same error.

Anyone can tell me what I have to do to get on the same server: Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager and SMP 7.1 SP1...

    Hola Cesar,

I have the same issue on a new box with 2008 R2 SP1.

I did remove IIS and reinstall and there is no way to make it work.

May be a bug in the SIM.

    Best regards,

    Fabrice

SP1 required the SIM upgrade to 7.1.72. Until this is done, SP1 on the OS was not supported.

Can you provide anymore specifics about your IIS configuration?

    Hello Jim,

There is only one site on the server and the SIM is 7.1.72.

My opinion is that the error message is not what is happening really.

I should be good to know exactly what is checked.

    Best regards,

    Fabrice

    Additional information:

The check that is haning is this on:

    <encryptedInstallReadinessCheck definitionName="ASP.NET_SP3" />

I created a case at Symantec, there have been 3 sessions and have not yet been able to solve this problem.

Has been reinstalled IIS and asp.net 2 and nothing.
