The option for message size is in the Administration tab, under your Hosts configuration. If you select your host and go to the SMTP tab, you can click on the advanced configuration button at the bottom and see all of your size limitations for both inbound and outbound.

Past that you would also want to make sure that there are no size limitations on the downstream server from us. If you telnet to your server and run an "EHLO" instead of the normal "HELO" this will give you a "Size = something" that will tell you if you have any limitations on that server.

    Hope this helps!

I also have the same problem. The incoming setting under our host configuration was 15728640 byte but we found that some of the email being rejected even under this size.
Besides that when using EHLO during telnet to Brightmail, we can't get the return "size= something". The following were the information we got during EHLO:
    250-xxxx.xxxx.com says EHLO to xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx:2601
    250-PIPELINING
    250-8BITMIME
    250 ENHANCEDSTATUSCODES

    Hi,

In Brightmail, the size limit bydefault is 15MB.

Now suppose if you are sending a message with attachment say 13mb, then your mail size will increase to anyway say around 16mb-17mb. The reason for this is your mail body text , fonts size of your mail body, your signatures, any image/logo of your company in the sigantures, your corporate policy note in the footer of your email,etc.. adds to the size.

Hence allt his comes to say more than 15MB. Hence try to increase the size of attachment say to 20mb and check whther you are facing the same issues or not.

Also note Symatnec have released new build for brightmail i.e.8.0.1. today.

       TomC 2,

Once again you solved the problem !

I changed the size and now users receive what they expect to, i do not see "rejected messages" in log anymore.

       Thanks !
