i was trying upgradeing our brightmail antispam application from 6.1.1.0 to 6.2.0.

I tried to install Brightmail Scanner (stopped tomcat before the installation), but it gave me "Internal Error 2753. F24713_regwizard.exe" at the end of the installation. So, i tried to install it again which worked. After this, i've installed Brightmail Control Center and it got installed without any problem.

after this, i tried to login to Brightmail Control Center with admin/symantec as the ID/PW. But somehow i was not able to login with it. I've also tried with our working password (the password that we was using before it gets reset while the installation).

all the related service including tomcat are started, but i still having issue with connecting to the control center.

Please let me know what could be causing this issue.

    Thanks,
    Seung

The regwizard error that you saw before looks unrelated to the BCC issue that you are seeing.  The reg_wizard is used by the application to verify your license for SBMF with the symantec backend servers.  The BCC doesn't check or look at the license to start or allow logins.

Its not clear from your post if its simply a case of your logins not working or if you are seeing an HTML type error code when you load the BCC.  Its sounds like its just a login/password issue.  I would first try using the system defualt login and password in the SBMF Implementation Guide to get you into the BCC.  It could be that the upgrade steps that you took wiped out the database settings that you had.

If that fails I would open up a ticket to have an engineering get onto the server with you to troubleshoot.

We have MS Server 2003 with SP2.

i think the (login/password issue) problem started when the error occur and the scanner installation finish up not properly(after uninstalling it). So, when i try to reinstall the scanner, it actually install fresh copy of the scanner.

i've also tried the system default login and password "symantec" and our normal password which didn't work.

i think i should call the technician.
