    I was wondering if I could install the GSS 2.5 components on a windows 7 32 bit machine instead of a server? We have a pretty beefy win 7 system that we wanted to use as an "imaging station" in our work area and it would be nice if the console could be installed here. I believe the documentation I have lists: ■ Windows Server 2008 ■ Windows Vista Business/Enterprise/Ultimate ■ Windows Server 2003 Standard/Enterprise SP1 ■ Windows Server 2003 R2 Standard/Enterprise ■ Windows XP Professional SP2 ■ Windows 2000 Professional/Server SP4 If it can run on XP it should run on windows 7 correct? Thanks!

    Hello,

    Yes, it will indeed run on Windows 7 as long as it is version 11.5.1.2266. Make sure to install that version. I am sending you a private message with a download. Windows 7 is not mentioned in the above list since that was for the initial build of Ghost Solution Suite 2.5, version 11.5.0.21113.

    I am intending to install GSS 2.5 on a Windows 7 64-bit machine. Would it be possible to get an up to date installer? The installer we currently have is a year or so old and would rather not run into some of the issues I have read about with people updating.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Randy,

    I'm also encountering issues with utilizing our GSS 2.5 with some newly implemented Windows 7 systems. We only have the Ghost Client install version 11.5.0.2113, and appear to be unable to update it on the Win7 systems via console. Is there a download location for the newer Client version 11.5.1.2266, since our configuration task updates are failing?

    I also need the ghost 11.5 update to v11.5.1.2266. The updater does not seem to work in Win7.

    Can you send me the info to download the latest patch for GSS as I can't connect to LiveUpdate to grab it.
    Also, can I download the the latest full version of GSS as i'm going to be re-installing on a new Server 2008 R2 machine next month.

    you can go to fileconnect.symantec.com and enter the serial number and download the entier 12.5.1 build 2266 install client and server.   If you already have 2266 server then open the client install folder on your server.

    I have installed GSS 2.5 on a Windows 7 64-bit machine but Live Update can't apply downloaded upate.
    Will updated installer fix this issue, or I need something elese?

    Hi,

    SEPM is not installed. After running post installation setup on Win 7 pro x64 (Dell Optiplex 980), and applying all available updates, I have installed GSS 2.5. System was resterted and started Live Update to get latest patch for GSS. And everytime I get the sam message.

    Hi

    Even though you have informed that SEPM is not installed, but the error LU1825 is related with SEPM.
    Can you let us know the version of Ghost that you installed on your machine.
    How are you attempting the liveupdate?
    Is it from Ghost Console -> Help -> Run LiveUpdate ?

    OR

    Add or Remove Programs Live Update?

    I was setting up to use the 3com services. I am able to boot my laptops into pxe and get the menu I made and when I choose one of the image files I made it responds

    tfpt error opening file.

    there is no error code...please advise.....

    Is there a location that I can download the latest Ghost Suite. We have a licence through a partner (Prevalent), but I am not aware of the links to download the most current suite

    What version is your license for?

    Ghost Solution Suite 2.5 is the current version, and comes with LiveUpdate which should automatically bring the installed version (from your original installation media) to Ghost version 11.5 build 2266.  There are also patches to build 2269 and 2298 which address specific issues and are only available by contacting tech support.

    If you have lost your original installation disks for GSS 2.5 then you should contact your partner in the first instance.

    I downloaded and updated to the last GSS 2.5 (using LiveUpdate) onto a Windows 7 32-bit machine.  When I launch ghost32.exe (v11.5.1), it hangs with the following:  Symantec Ghost has stopped working ... blah blah blah.  [Debug]  [Close Program]

    (see attachment).

    Once this happens, I cannot invoke any new .exe (they simply do not open), and currently running apps (Word, Outlook, IE) begin a slow, steady meltdown.  I have to reboot (sometimes more than once) to get things stable again.

    Side note, we use McAfee VirusScan 8.7i with the Malware add on as well and McAfee HIPS 7.x.

    Based on what I am reading here, it sounds like I might need to update to patch build 2269 or 2298 ... or is there something else going on?
