Created a ghost image using Symantec Ghost 2.0 Suite but upgraded to Ghost 2.5 suite on my server.
the ghost image that I created with Symantec ghost is for Thinkpad T30 to T43 laptops one ghost image for these laptops.
tested the image on a Thinkpad T42, T41 worked fine. But when I download the image on to a thinkpad T30 the laptop does not boot in Windows XP but either gets a blue screen or a Black screen for Winodws to boot normally or into Safe mode, with network.
The ghost bootdisk that I tried was Windows PE then I tried PC Dos. Both times when I downloaded the image to the Thinkpad T30 laptop it didn't work.
I also included the command line -ib during the ghosting process.
I checked the bios on the Thinkpad T30 and there was no feature called Predesktop Autheication like the Thinkpad T40 and up which I disabled.
Anyone have any ideas why it wouldn't work on a Thinkpad T30. Is there any features I should disable on the Thinkpad T30 Bios.

Generally speaking you can only restore images on to the exact same hardware. Even small configuration differences may render machine unbootable due to driver mismatch. You have two options:

    a) use sysprep
    b) use Deploy anywhere from GSS 2.5 since you already have 2.5. This will retarget NIC, storage drivers, HAL and CPU to the point of machine being totally bootable.

can you send me a link to show me how to use the deploy anywhere?

I dont think there is such a link. Your best friend is Ghost implementation guide. If you are using Console it is as simple as ticking box in Task Deploy anywhere pane that you want DA to be run after the clone. Ghost impl. guide lists commands that you can use with DA if you are running it manually.
