Okay, firstly I'll apologise for my first post here starting out with a criticism
The registration process is incredibly frustrating, took me 20 mins just to get that working.
    Anyway, now to the question.
Using Powerquest Drive image 7 is there anyway to stop the application for searching for the network when re-imaging a hard drive?
It takes a long time just sitting there searching for network settings that I don't use when re-imaging.
    Thanks.

    Hi Adam,

As a matter of fact, no registration is required to run PQ module :-) If you use GSS, only Ghost Console is required registration.

Could you tell what process do you use to re-image the machine? How you boot the machine and then how you start the imaging process?

Where do you store the images?

Sorry I should have clarified, the problem with registering was on these forums not PQ.
I mean c'mon these are help forums, do we really need to come up with a password that the DOD would have trouble cracking? and the visual confirmation seems to be glitchy, 5 times before it finally decided that I had entered the numbers correctly....anyway, minor annoyance I guess I'm here now...

With regards to PQ this is the setup
80 gig hard drive 35gb C: partition at the front of the drive, 9gb unallocated in the middle, then the remainder
at the end of the drive D: with backup data (set up with Partition magic)

The D drive contains a backup image of C: drive which we use to reimage our lab machines before each job, I insert the boot CD to initiate re-imaging of the machine then the program spends a good 10-15 minutes looking for the network. I'm assuming it's looking to see if I want to restore the image via the network or something.

Then after it finishes I get a dialog box error pop up saying a "winbos error no network found", then click OK to continue then a minute later another dialog error pops up saying "no network card installed" click ok to continue then we are finally in the GUI to restore the drive.

The application works fine, this isn't causing any errors just unecessary delay which I thought might be able to be avoided.
We work in a kind of time critical place and any time we can save on anything can really be beneficial.

So my basic question is this : Is there a way to stop PQ from looking for the network when booting from the rescue CD, make it go straight to the GUI where we tell it what to do?

    Hi Adam,

Sorry for the troubles you had when registering in the forum, but now you are in!

However, I may not be able to help you as much as expected, since you seems to be using an older version of a PQ product, which is not included in GSS, and we have a limited exposure.

I had a look at the rescue disks created by deploy center, but non of them seems to add a netwrok search by default. One possibility is that your CD is installing network drivers and tries to connect to a share which does not exist. Is it possible to remove all the network related commands from autoexec.bat in CD and try? It could be a way the imagecenter is executed. If you have difficulties finding it, could you post the autoexec.bat file here?
