  • 1.  I cant logging into DLP Console

    Hello,

     

    I have DLP 14.5 and cant login with Administrator account, yesterday I used it but now I cant. It is the only account register. All vontu services are running and Oracle services too. 

     

    What can I do?

    Hi, your options are;

    1) Reset the Administrator password with the AdminPasswordReset utility located on the Enforce Server;

    • You'll need the password for the DLP Database Oracle Account.
    • Syntax as below, run by logging into the Enforce Server as the system account created during install (protect), or an account with local administrative access, run command prompt as administrator and navigate to $installdir$\Protect\bin\;

    AdminPasswordReset -dbpass oracle_password -newpass new_administrator_password

    2) Reinstall the Enforce Server, if you've got data in the Oracle Database - don't reinitialise the database when you're prompted in the wizard. You'll need need the Oracle Database password for this step, so if you can do this you can do the first step!

    I try the first option but show me this message

     

    The Administrator password could not be changed. The VontuNotifier service must
    be started for this tool to run. See reset.log for more details.

     

    And Vontu Notifier is started

    I replied to your DM, but I'd suggest restarting all services or rebooting the box just to be sure.

    If you still have issues, i'd probably just reinstall the software (if you have no incidents yet, just reinitialise the database also) as it sounds like you haven't used it much and it's faster than going any further into troubleshooting why the services aren't showing as up... make sure you run everything as administrator or via a command prompt that is elevated to admin.

    hello,

     

    if it is still does not work, you may contact symantec support as it seems there is some issue with Adminpasswordreset executable on some DLP version.
