  • 1.  chrome extensions symantec dlp

    I have DLP 14.

     

    But this week I saw a new extension in chrome of DLP. (I attach the img) in the agent machine

     

    Anybody knows why I have this extension added and its functionality.

    Google Chrome plugin monitors & prevents users from transmitting sensitive data from through even the Chrome browsers now. Earlier chrome was not supported by default and we were required to enable & use the 'Application Monitoring' for being able to monitor uploads through the Google Chrome browser.

    There is way to hide it, because the user does not know they have installed DLP and with this extension may suspect.

    Not that I know of. Maybe a good candidate for an enhancement request. Symantec possibly would need to work this out with the chrome APIs if this needs to be hidden from the end users.
