    Hi Sriram,

I am not aware of a tool as such. You can refer the articles https://support.symantec.com/en_US/article.TECH242707.html and https://support.symantec.com/en_US/article.TECH245519.html to see whether you can improve the test results. Increasing the TCP Window Size will have a good impact on larger downloads/speed tests.

    Hi Sriram

I usually make use of two speed testing sites when assessing the speed of access via the ProxySG/ASG:

    http://speedof.me

    http://testmy.net

Do remember that if you have moved from Websense to ASG, downloads might be slower as a result of objects being scanned prior to delivery to the clients. Please ensure that Streaming sites etc are not being subject to AV scanning on the ASG device as this can eat up recources on the scanning engine due to the endless stream.

    Hi Sriram,

Checkpoint timings are calculated based on the time when a specific checkpoint is crossed. You can read with an example at https://support.symantec.com/en_US/article.TECH244919.html

    Speaking of Window Sizes:

What do you recommend for tcp-window-size for 100MB or 1GB Internet links? Would you generally enable RFC-1323 support (window scaling) on ProxySG and increase the window size? To what value?

    Best regards, Matthias

RFC1323 support should be enabled by default. We do not disable it and did not run into problems yet.

We set the window size to 1MB, (tcp-ip window-size 104857). For fast internet links (with large ProxySG appliances) I recommend this as a minimum value. For example modern versions of Windows may increase the window scaling value up to 16MB for certain connections.
