Symantec Liveupdate not working with Solidcore

Hi 

        we are running Solidcore on some of our critical Computers .The Problem is that while solidcore is running ,our Liveupdate doesn't work .We have added all the Liveupdated related EXE files to Solidcore whitelists but the problem remains the same .Liveupdate works fine when Solidcore is disabled .

The files which have been added to whitelist are mentioned below but it still doesn't work .Any Ideas on how it can resolved .

• LuCallbackProxy.exe
• LuComServer_3_3.EXE
• LuConfig.EXE
• LUALL.EXE 
• AUPDATE.EXE
• ALUNOTIFY.EXE
• AluSchedulerSvc.exe
• SescLU.exe

If someone can tell me what files are involved from the start of liveupdate till the end than I can add all those files .

Is it happening for the first time as in has SEP Liveupdate never worked with Solidcore or it used to work and now it is not working

try excluding rtvscan.exe and smc.exe

@prachand ,the Liveupdate never worked  since solidcore was deployed however it was gone unnoticed .

@Rafeeq ,these files as well as many other files from the same directory are also added .

One more thing ,the Software is known as  NCR APTRA Software Security .

I think its not communicating with the manager when software is ON

Forget about liveupdate, clinets communicate with manager and green dot is on on SEP?

can you log activity between sep and internet? maybe you can find it. you can use wireshark or your program have a logging tab?

@Rafeeq , Initially there was no green dot however that has been fixed now  by adding a system file (NAVEX15.SYS) to the white list . Please note that the problem is not with communication with SEP Manager .the only problem which I think is that some dll file (Exe files are already added)  is used while launching the Liveupdate Process and since that file is not allowed due to my lack of knowledge so the whole process failes .

@fatih ,Problem is that solidcore is not providing details about that file .Can you suggest a utility which can tell me what exe or dll files are used after launching any Parent process.

in that case ,open control pannel

select liveupdate make it interactive..start-run-luall.exe

does that run or complain about file being missing...

this should tel the req file.

I don't think this issue is with the Live update files , the issue is with the connectvity

Please paste the log.liveupdate

hello,

you can use process explorer (from sysinternals) you can see exe files and dlls are runing.

By the way you can install wireshark and sniff your network between your computer and solidcore.
