  • 1.  Backup Exec Version 2010

    Dear All,

    I have symantec Backup Exec 2010  software & i have a probelm and i need some on can help me.

    My backup exec log file is huge and it is increasing 

    location of my file is below & size.

    F:\Program Files (x86)\Symantec\Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager\db

    sem5.log    670,209,664 kb size

    can some one tell how to talke care this issue.

    Are you on the base version of Backup Exec 2010?  If so you need to upgrade to Backup Exec 2010R3 at least.  This is a free upgrade if you have active maintenance.

    This is the location of SEP and not Backup Exec. Secondly, sem5 is not a BE file, but a SEP file. Use this KB for a workaround - http://www.symantec.com/business/support/index?page=content&id=TECH178718

    And better still, repost under the SEP forum as well.

    What version of SEP are you running? This was a known issue with an older version of 12.1.

    You can manually delete that file by stopping the SEPM service first. Otherwise, the fix is to get to the latest version of SEP (12.1.5).
