  • 1.  Mcafee epo to Symantec Migration

    Dear All,

    I am planning to migrate from Mcafee Epo to Symantec Endpoint 12.1.4112 ( as i need to keep this version to maintain parent compant standards)

    we have 500 Windows servers & 3500 servers connected in 2 different domain ( no trust) enabled isolated each other

    Kindly guide me how to prepare for this mcafee epo to symantec migration, first task is migrate only windows servers

    Hi Brian,

    Thanks for your immediate response.

    As i am still in learning phase in AV, i still have few questions on below items

    1. I dont want to disturb existing  Mcafee epo server as it will still serve  desktops, i only need to migrate the windows servers from Mcafee epo to symantec

    2. Need advise  on building new symantec endpoint server and how i migrate windows servers to symantec client.

    Hi Rajesh,

    You will still need to uninstall the McAfee client from servers and install the SEP client to them. You can follow the link I posted above for removing third party software.

    But first you will need to stand up a SEPM so the clients can communicate to it. Do you have it ready to go?

    Once you get it stood up you can start to migrate your clients over.

    Hi Brian,

    Still am planning on designing Mcafee endpoint for 2 different Domains.Hopefull i will get some idea on Architecture 

    I will let you know once started building SEP
