  • 1.  SEP12 and location awareness for VPN

    Hello.

In my company we use AT&T network VPN client and  SEP v12 which works fine.  SEP is locked down to petty much only allow one to disable the firewall or add exceptions.  Most users just use ATT to VPN into the company and the location changes to   'COMPANY' Network from  Off 'COMPANY'.  We have users who also use Nortel VPN to connect to a customer and this is were the problem happens. The location aweness changes back to Off Company and breaks things they have going on.  Sometimes it just happens at random.

I was wondering if anyone had an idea on how to get SEP to ignore Nortel or something?   I'm not sure if SONAR "system change events" cause the location aweness to change or what but I need to suggest something to the customer asap.  Any ideas?

Have you tried blocking the adapter traffic using the firewall?

Hi Brian, If I knew what to do, I would try it.  Can you give me some pointers?

You can define a custom adapter and then add a trigger for it. See this KB article on how to add:

Hmmm... I'll look for the console.  I thought I could just add a rule or something. This product is so needlessly confusing.
