  • 1.  Auto deploy agent to new PCs

Is there a way when adding a new PC to the domain to have it automatically get the SEP agent deployed to it? Right now I have to go into the SEP console, scan for the new PCs and add them to the appropriate group. I would like to be able to just put the PC into an OU in Active Directory and have it get the agent automatically deployed just like it gets settings for mapping printers/drives and other things from GPOs.

You wouldn't be able to auto deploy from the SEPM  once a machine is added in AD. It would have to be some other method.

Using SEPM it would require some manual work:

From SEPM you can export a .msi installation package. You should be able to deploy this further down the line to new machine by using the GPOs in AD for software deployment on OUs - here some reference:

You could try the below article which describes how to deploy SEP using a GPO:

    Hi,

Thumbs up to the Sebastianz advice.

This is one of the easiest way to auto deploy SEP clients.

SEPM can't auto deploy pacakges on the PC's .

    Hi,

You can use Symantec altiris product as well to deploy SEP clients automatically.

Use GPO if having AD network.

    Hi

You can configure unmanaged detector to search new clients without SEP

Please find the link which describes it how to configure it

Thanks to the help of you folks, I was able to create the setup to auto-deploy the SEP agent to new clients when added to the domain and moved into a specific OU.

    Thanks!
